NWOSU Athletics Announces New Animal Policy

ALVA – In an effort to improve the fan experience, Northwestern Oklahoma State Athletics has announced a new policy. Pets are no longer permitted at any Ranger sporting event, indoor or outdoor. Exceptions to this policy include service animals trained to aid people with disabilities and/or guard dogs.

“Our chief concern is for the safety and comfort of our fans,” said Director of Athletics Andy Carter. “We appreciate the cooperation of the Northwestern Community and look forward to another great year of Ranger athletics.”

The new policy goes into effect immediately. Northwestern’s fall teams are home for the first time this weekend. Soccer hosts Sterling College at 6 p.m. Friday and Texas Women's University at 1 p.m. Sunday. The football team takes on Colorado State-Pueblo at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
